Not many of us are aware of the fact that acne can also appear in our genital area. Normally, we believe that acne affects the face, neck, chest and back area only. But acne can go beyond that. Genital area is another part of the body that can be harshly affected by it.
One can start the treatment of genital acne as soon as their physician determines the existing skin breakout on these sensitive areas as genital acne. Acne appears in the genital area in form of lumps, and at times these lumps might indicate a sexually transmitted disease or some other problem.
Contrary to the popular belief, even those who are leading a very hygienic life and take several baths in a day may suffer from acne lumps in genitals. It can occur if your skin is allergic to particular things and may also be caused due to blockage of pores.
As stated above, genital lumps do not always indicate sexually transmitted disease because there are several causes for them. They may be caused by sweating, sports tools or apparel and sometimes even due to the washing detergent or soap you are using.
You can minimize the occurrence of genital acne with the help of frequent bathing or by replacing the brand of your soap. It is also possible that despite all care one may not see the kind of improvement one expects. In that case one should take the help of an expert immediately.
It has been observed that treatment for genital acne requires a month or two to show some signs of improvement. So it is advisable not to change the treatment in a hurry and give the required time to your treatment.
In some treatments, the acne problem gets worse before getting better. So do not howl at that time, as it will soon turn positive. They might give trouble but popping the pimples is not solution and can worsen the situation and may lead to scars.
So, just take it easy. Take the precautions mentioned above and if the problem persists, do contact a specialist, and do as he says. Keep up with your hygienic habits and things would improve very soon.
